Cette force\, qui a fait fondre la réalité de cet homme\, c’est SIVA. Système Intelligent Vivant et Agissant. Mais qui se cache réellement derrière ces quatre lettres ? Dieu ? Un satellite ? Une race extraterrestre ? \nLa Trilogie divine\, est un mélange de science-fiction spéculative\, de récit autobiographique\, de questionnement métaphysique et de délires schizophréniques. Elle compte parmi les oeuvres les plus déroutantes de Dick et est sans doute celle qui a fait de lui un auteur culte. \nElle comprend: \n\nSIVA\, (VALIS\, écrit en 1978\, il a été publié en 1981.)\nL’Invasion divine (The Divine Invasion\, écrit en 1980 est publié en 1981)\,\nLa Transmigration de Timothy Archer (The Transmigration of Timothy Archer\, écrit en 1981 et publié en mai 1982). \n\nL’œuvre Radio libre Albemuth (Radio Free Albemuth\, 1985\, écrit avant SIVA) a été par la suite rattachée à la trilogie comme un prologue.
